Author and Educator Living as an Expatriate around the World

Karen Page portrait

As a globe-trotting early childhood educator and mom, I take you from South Africa to the steppes of Kazakhstan, through Bangkok’s markets, India’s spice‑soaked lanes, Jordan’s deserts, Romania’s surprises, Ras Al Khaimah’s sunsets, and the neon of China.

In Blonde in Bangkok, Bombay, Beijing, and Beyond, expect awkward cultural moments, parenting on the fly, workplace mishaps, and the kind of local dishes that test your taste buds and your bravery. Along the way, we collect friends, lessons, scarves we never wear, and a stubborn optimism that turns disasters into the stories you’ll want to tell at parties.

Professionally, I write and teach about the Reggio Emilia approach in international schools, blending child-centred, inquiry‑based practice with cultural sensitivity and practical classroom strategies. My workshops and writing support educators and school leaders who want to create inspiring, respectful learning environments across diverse settings.
